What Is Amazon Family?
Amazon Family lets you share Prime benefits and digital content with one other adult and up to four children in your household. It provides a simple way to manage shared services, subscriptions, and content while maintaining separate accounts.

Managing your Amazon Family
Amazon Family allows you to share Amazon benefits with another adult (aged 18 and over) and up to four children living at your primary residential address. This is the address you consider to be your home and where you spend the majority of your time. Both adults can keep separate accounts while sharing:
- Prime benefits, including shipping, access to Prime Day and other exclusive deals and events, Prime Video, Prime Reading. To check the full list of shareable benefits, go to Amazon Family.
- Digital content through Family Library.
- Management of up to four child profiles with parental controls.
About Payment Sharing
When someone creates a new Amazon Family, they become the Family Organizer meaning they control and manage the Amazon Family. The Family Organizer shares their payment method with the other adult member. This one-way payment sharing would allow the other adult to see the Family Organizer’s card details and potentially use them for purchases. This is used as a way to verify the trust and your household connection between the Family Organizer and the other adult member. The other adult invited to join the Amazon Family does not need to share their payment method within return the Family Organizer.
If you created your Amazon Family before September 24, 2026, and both adults shared payment methods with each other through two-way sharing, your existing arrangement will continue unchanged until the Family Organizer adds/removes a member or the other member leaves, which will then transition your Amazon Family to one-way sharing. Sharing Amazon Prime Benefits
Adults sharing Prime benefits must:
- Share the same primary residential address. This is the address you consider to be your home and where you spend most of your time.
- Agree to share payment methods for household verification.
- Have a Buy Now UK billing address for Prime Video sharing.
- Have linked accounts through Amazon Family.

Who can't share Prime benefits?
Prime benefits can't be shared by:
- Free trial members
- Student and Young Adult Prime members (18-22)
- Prime Video-only members
Digital Content
Two adult Amazon accounts can share digital content like eBooks, apps, and games through Family Library. This requires sharing payment methods for verification. For more details, go to Share Content Using Family Library.
Adults can share digital content with children without sharing payment methods. For each child, they can choose which content is visible and personalise their experience, set educational goals and time limits.
