Frequently Asked Questions

What happens to shared content and purchases if an adult leaves the Amazon Family?

When an adult leaves the Amazon Family, they immediately lose access to shared content and benefits. Any content they originally purchased remains in their account, while content owned by the other adult becomes inaccessible. Previous purchases made using shared payment methods remain the responsibility of the original purchaser.

Can Family Library sharing be set up differently for different family members?

Yes, you can customize sharing settings individually for each family member. For example, you can share certain content types with one child while sharing different content with another child, or share select content types with an adult while restricting others.

What happens to downloaded content on devices when Family Library sharing is turned off?

When Family Library sharing is turned-off, previously downloaded shared content will no longer be accessible on family members' devices. They'll need to purchase their own copy to regain access. Personal (nonshared) content remains unaffected.
