How to Set Up Fire TV 4-Series

To start, have the following parts, accessories, and information ready:

• The Fire TV 4-Series TV and in-box accessories
  • Alexa Voice Remote, power cord, AAA batteries for the remote, 2 TV stand legs, and 4 TV stand screws
• An Amazon account, including your email address or phone number and password
• An internet connection, including your Wi-Fi name and password
• Philips screwdriver and scissors
• TV wall mounts (sold separately) if you decide to mount the TV on a wall

To unpack your TV:

1. Carefully unpack the TV and all included accessories from the box. Make sure you remove all parts and accessories before disposing of the box.
2. Lay your Fire TV on a flat surface with the plastic wrap still on the TV.
3. Cut the plastic wrap off of the TV.

To install the TV stand:

• Screw both TV stand legs into the bottom of the TV. The legs are interchangeable and can be installed on either side.

To mount your Fire TV on the wall:

• Check that the wall can support the weight of the TV set and wall mount assembly.
  • Compatible VESA wall mount patterns: 300 mm (w) x 300 mm (h)
  • Compatible screws: Type M6, 15 mm length
• Follow the mounting instructions provided with the wall mount.
  Note: Follow the mounting instructions exactly as provided. This will help you avoid any damage or serious injury during the mounting process.
• Make sure to install the TV on a vertical wall.
• Only use screws that are suitable for the wall's material.
• Make sure no one can trip over the TV cables.

Follow these tips to place your TV:

• Don't place your TV on an unstable surface.
• Place your TV somewhere that allows good ventilation.
• Don't use your TV near damp or cold areas.
• Keep your TV away from direct sunlight to protect the TV from overheating.
• Keep liquids and liquid-filled containers away from your TV.

On the front of the device:

• Power button: Press once to select the input source. Press and hold to turn the TV on or put into standby mode.

On the back of the device:

• Ethernet/LAN port: Ethernet (10/100 Mbps) to connect to your internet modem or home network.
• 4 HDMI ports: Use these ports to connect devices such as gaming consoles. The HDMI (eARC) port supports the audio return channel for returning digital audio to receivers or soundbars.
• Antenna/Cable: Use this port to connect a coaxial cable or antenna.
• USB: Use this port to connect a USB cable.
• IR Emitter: Use this port to connect an IR emitter cable to control other devices by IR commands from your TV.
• Audio out/headphone: Use this port to connect headphones or an analog soundbar to the TV's headphone jack.
• Optical audio output (S/PDIF): Use this port to connect an optical cable from the TV to the optical input on your receiver or soundbar.
• AC-in (input): Use this port to connect the supplied power cable to your TV.

1. Put the batteries into the remote.
2. Plug in the power cord first into your TV’s power (AC-in) port, and then plug the other end into a power outlet.
   Note: If the power cord is damaged, don't connect it to an outlet, as there is a risk of electric shock.
3. (Optional) Connect an external antenna to your TV's antenna port to watch broadcast TV.
4. Press the Power button on your remote or your TV.
5. Your Fire TV remote should already be paired with your Fire TV.
   Note: If your remote doesn't pair automatically, press the Home button until "Press to start" appears on-screen (about 10 seconds).
6. If connecting to a Wi-Fi network, choose one of the options:
   • Use your mobile phone to scan the on-screen QR code to automatically set up Wi-Fi connection.
   • Use your Fire TV remote and follow on-screen instructions to manually set up Wi-Fi connection.
7. If connecting to a router or modem:
   1. Connect one end of an Ethernet cable (sold separately) to your Fire TV.
   2. Connect the other end to your modem or router.
8. To sign-in or sign up with your Amazon account, choose one of these options:
   • Scan the on-screen QR code with your mobile phone.
   • Visit the on-screen web address (amazon.co.uk/code) and enter the activation code shown on your screen.
9. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete setup.

If setting up your device doesn't go as expected, try the following suggestions:

• If you get a login error or have forgotten your Amazon account password, you can reset your password. Go to the Forgot Your Password page.
