Sound Isn't Clear on Echo Buds
The audio on your Echo Buds is choppy or you hear a squeal, buzzing, or static.
- Make sure that you have a strong Wi-Fi or data connection.
- Make sure that your phone is within Bluetooth range (about 30 feet).
- If sound is muffled, check to make sure there's no earwax buildup. Wipe your Echo Buds with a clean, dry cloth.
- On your Echo Buds (2019 release, 1st gen) and Echo Buds (2021 release, 2nd gen):
- Try turning down the Passthrough volume, or turning off Passthrough.
- If you hear a feedback noise, try turning off Passthrough.
- If you hear background noise or a hissing sound while on a call, turn off Sidetone. In the Alexa app, go to Device Settings and select Sidetone.
- If static is interrupting your sound, check your Echo Buds for a secure fit using the fit test in the Alexa app.
