How to Set Up Fire TV Cube
Connect your Fire TV Cube to your TV and follow the on-screen instructions to complete setup.

Basic Requirements
To start, have the following parts, accessories, and information ready:
- The Fire TV Cube and in-box accessories
- Alexa Voice Remote, power cable, power adapter, and AAA batteries for the remote.
- High-speed remote HDMI cable (not included)
- A TV with an available HDMI port
- An Amazon account, including your email address or phone number and password
- An internet connection, including your Wi-Fi name and password
Control Buttons and Ports
The Fire TV Cube has the following buttons, indicators and ports located on the front, and on the back of the device.
Front of the device:
- Microphones on/off button
- Press the microphone on/off button to mute
- Microphones
- Detects voice from any direction
- Volume buttons
- Control the internal speaker of Fire TV Cube
- Action button
- Multi-function button used to wake Alexa
- Light bar
- Shows device status and voice response.
Back of the device:
- HDMI input port
- HDMI output port
- IR extender port
- USB-A ports
- Ethernet port
- Power port
How to Set Up Your Device
- Put the batteries into the remote.
- Place your Fire TV Cube 1 ft (30 cm) away from any speakers. Position the device with the ports facing away from you.
Note: Don't place the Fire TV Cube in a closed cabinet as it needs to hear your voice. To control components in closed cabinets, use an IR extender (sold separately).
- Plug the power adapter into an outlet and then into your Fire TV Cube.
- Plug one end of your high-speed HDMI cable into your TV and the other end in the HDMI out port of your Fire TV Cube.
- Turn on your TV and switch to the correct HDMI input.
Tip: Use the remote that came with your TV to select the HDMI source or input.
- Use your mobile phone to scan QR code to automatically add Wi-Fi settings and complete registration or use the remote instead to set up manually.
- If you choose to use the remote instead, follow the on-screen instructions to connect to Wi-Fi and sign in with your Amazon account. Use your mobile phone or computer to visit the on-screen web address (amazon.co.uk/code) and enter the activation code.
- Follow the on-screen questions to set up equipment control for devices like soundbars.
Remote Overview
Your device comes with the a remote that you can use to browse your Fire TV Cube. Use the playback buttons to play, pause, rewind, or fast forward video content or the Alexa button for voice commands. You can also use the preset app buttons at the bottom of the remote to navigate quickly to select apps.
To insert batteries, turn your remote upside down and place your thumbs on the back cover. Press firmly and slide the cover down. For best performance, alkaline batteries are recommended.

Troubleshoot Setup Issues
If setting up your device doesn't go as expected, try the following suggestions:
- If you get a login error or have forgotten your Amazon account password, you can reset your password. Go to Forgot Your Password page.
- If your remote doesn't pair automatically, press the Home button
until "Press

- If you're having issues with your Wi-Fi password, contact your internet service provider.
- If you can't download apps or games, add a default payment method. Go to Your Payments.

Ethernet cable: If you prefer, you can connect an Ethernet cable for a wired connection instead of Wi-Fi.
IR extender: If using an IR extender (sold separately) to control devices in a closed cabinet, place it on the same shelf as your devices.
Cable or satellite boxes: You can connect your Cable/Satellite box, gaming console, or DVD/Blu-Ray player to the HDMI input port. Use Alexa to easily switch between and access content from these devices.

Privacy Control
Press the microphone on/off button to turn off voice control. The blue indicator light shows when Alexa is recording and sending your request to Amazon's secure cloud.
You can access, hear, and delete your voice recordings in the Alexa app, or simply say "Alexa, delete what I just said" or "Alexa, delete everything I've ever said".
