Learn to Use Alexa on Your Fire TV Cube

Perform specific actions, watch and listen to content, and control devices with Alexa. Use your wake word or press and hold the Voice button on your remote to talk to Alexa.

To control certain functions of devices connected to your Fire TV Cube (like an A/V receiver or sound bar) with Alexa, first set them up in the Fire TV device settings.

Note: The voice button on the Fire TV remote doesn't support voice navigation commands or making onscreen selections with your voice.

You can adjust the volume on your Fire TV Cube with the volume buttons on top of the device, or say, "Volume [1-10]."

Manage Alexa Features

Use the Alexa app on your compatible mobile device to set and manage settings for most Alexa features. To deactivate the microphones on your Fire TV Cube, press the Mute button on top of the device and it lights up red.

These Alexa features aren't available on Fire TV Cube at this time:

  • Video Drop In
  • Drop In from devices not registered to your account
  • Support for Bluetooth connections with external sources (like your mobile phone)
  • Voice support for Bluetooth connections
  • Third-party smart home devices without a hub
Note: While Announcements and Messaging can use the Fire TV Cube internal speaker, Calling and Drop In use the connected external speaker (like the TV or sound bar).
