Volume, Power, or Mute Buttons Not Working on Fire TV Remote

Follow these troubleshooting steps if your volume, power, or mute buttons on your Fire TV remote aren't working with your Fire TV device.

Note: These instructions don’t apply to Fire TV Smart TVs.
  1. Go to Settings on your Fire TV.
  2. Select Equipment Control.
  3. Select Manage Equipment.
  4. Select TV.
  5. Under the Change TV option, check that the displayed TV brand matches your actual TV.
  6. If your TV brand doesn't match, select Change TV and follow the on-screen instructions.
