Replace the Batteries in Your Fire TV Remote
Open the back cover of the remote to insert or replace batteries.
Note: Some models have a latch instead.
- Turn over the remote and put one thumb on the arrow at the bottom of the battery cover.
- Put your other thumb at the top of the remote above the battery cover.
- Hold the top of the remote tightly. Push down the battery cover by applying pressure with the thumb that's on the bottom of the battery cover.
- Slide the door down halfway and roll off the cover from the remote battery casing.
- Insert new AAA alkaline batteries and slide the cover up until you hear a click to close the cover.
For models with a latch:
- Press directly on the arrow icon to release the latch; and the battery compartment opens.
- Turn over the remote and put one thumb on the arrow indicator at the top of the battery cover.
- Hold the remote firmly. Push down the battery cover by applying pressure with the thumb on the arrow indicator that's on top of the battery cover.
- Slide the door down halfway and roll off the cover from the remote battery casing.
- Insert new AAA alkaline batteries and slide the cover up until you hear a click to close the cover.
