Set Up a Pre-owned Echo Show Device

If your device once belonged to someone else, start setup with factory reset.

Your pre-owned device might still carry some of the previous owner's settings or preferences. A factory reset erases those old settings.

To start, connect the device to its power adapter. Once the screen begins to light up, factory reset the device:

  1. Press and hold the Mute and Volume Down buttons until you see the Amazon logo (about 15 seconds).
  2. After a few seconds, device setup begins. When prompted, follow the on-screen instructions to:
    • Select a language.
    • Connect to your Wi-Fi network.
    • Log in to your Amazon account and register the device to your account.
    • Confirm your time zone.
    • Confirm your address.
    • Confirm the location of your device.
    • Choose a name for your device.
    • Choose a wallpaper for your device.

When you see the rotating content screens of device Home, your device is ready to use. We recommend ensuring your device has all the software updates it might need. See how to Update the Software Version on Your Echo Show.
