Update the Software Version on Your Echo Devices with a Screen

Update your device's software version through the device settings menu. These steps also work for Echo Spot.

Note: Settings menu items for the Echo Hub and Echo Show 5 (all generations) may vary, and those devices will receive a software update soon.
  1. Say, "Go to Settings," or go to the device settings on your Echo Show:
    • If you're using Alexa+, select the Menu icon on your screen, and then select Settings.
    • If you're using the original Alexa, swipe down from the top of the screen and select Settings.
  2. Select About this Device.
  3. Select Check for Software Updates to check for and install software updates.
