  • An Amazon account, including your email address or phone number and password.
  • An internet connection, including your Wi-Fi name and password.

How to Set Up Your Device

Note: Tip: Before setup, download or update the Alexa app in your mobile device's app store.

  1. Choose a location for yourEcho Studio (2025 release).
    1. Select a location at your preferred listening height, an at a minimum of 6" (15 cm) from the wall. It's important to have clearance on the top and sides of the speaker.
  2. Plug in your device.
  3. Open the Alexa app.
  4. Select Devices.
  5. SelectPlus.
  6. Select Add Device.
  7. Select Amazon Echo, and then Echo, Echo Dot, Echo Pop and more.
  8. Follow the instructions to set up your device.

Privacy and Support

To turn your device's microphone on or off press the Microphone Enable/Disablebutton.

A blue light on the device means that Alexa is listening and processing your request in Amazon's secure cloud.

Troubleshoot Setup Issues
