Can’t get your Fire TV device to power on or the devcie is frozen? Follow these tips.
- Replace the batteries in your remote. For best performance, use AAA alkaline batteries.
- Use the power cable and adapter included with your Fire TV device.
Note: If you lose your Fire TV device power cable or adapter, replace them with Amazon branded equipment to ensure compatibility.
- Unplug the power cord from your device or wall outlet for several seconds then plug it back in.
- Press the source or input button on your TV remote to check that your TV input matches the HDMI port your Fire TV uses, and use a high-speed HDMI cable (sold separately).
- Unplug your Fire TV from your HDMI hub (if you're using one) and plug it directly into your TV's HDMI port.
If the device turns on but the screen is frozen, try:
- Press and hold the Select button and the Play/Pause button on your remote at the same time for about 5 seconds to force a restart.
- Unplug the power cord from your Fire TV device. Wait 60 seconds. Plug it back in.
