Convert Handwritten Notes to Text on Kindle Scribe

Add converted notes to other documents or share them via email from your device.

To access the Convert to text options in the Share menu:
  1. Go to the Notebook tab.
  2. Pick a downloaded notebook and select the More menu under the notebook’s thumbnail.
  3. Select Share and choose one of these options:
    • Convert to text and quick send [to your registered email].
    • Convert to text and email. A preview window opens and you can edit the text by tapping on each page.

You can also access these options by tapping on the Share icon at the top of a notebook.

Note: Edits made to the converted text aren’t saved on your device.
To change the handwriting recognition language, go to Settings > Device Options > Language & Dictionaries > Handwriting Recognition. The change applies to all notebook conversions to text.

Note: Currently, this feature supports the following handwriting recognition languages: Afrikaans, Arabic, Chinese (Simplified), Chinese (Traditional) - HK, Chinese (Traditional) - TW, Danish, Dutch, English (UK), English (U.S.), French, French (Canada), German, Icelandic, Italian, Japanese, Norwegian, Portuguese (Brazil), Russian, Spanish, and Swedish.

To add converted notes to other documents, copy/paste them from the shared .txt file sent to the email addresses that you specified.
