Customize Your Home Dashboard on Echo Hub

Add or change the widgets managing your smart home devices and groups.

Echo Hub creates your Home Dashboard automatically, building widgets and shortcuts that connect you with smart home devices and routines in your account. You can arrange and configure the dashboard to work best with your Smart Home setup.

Home Panel Widgets

The dashboard Home panel can hold widgets in any category, and you can add any widget multiple times. To add a widget:

  1. Say "Open widget gallery," or swipe left to the end of the row of widgets, then select Widget Gallery .
  2. Browse to find the widget you want, or select a category to look in.
  3. Select the widget that you want to add.
  4. Select Back to return to the Home panel.

Note: You can add widgets only on the Home panel.

To remove a widget, press and hold the widget, then select Remove Widget .

  2. Select Rearrange.
  3. Press and hold the handles on any dashboard item, then drag it into the order that you want.
Tip: Dashboard items can only be rearranged within their own lists. For example, you can't move a widget in among the shortcuts, or a shortcut into the panels list.
  4. Select Done to go back to the dashboard.

To hide or add a Smart Home Group panel:

  1. Press and hold on the widget row or panel list and then select Edit .

Note: The Home and Routines panels can't be moved or hidden.

Configure Smart Home Widgets

Three widgets - Smart Home Cameras, Smart Home Groups, and Smart Home Favorites - allow you to configure them for a Group or device set of your choice.

For example, configure the Smart Home Group widget to present your Living Room group on the Dashboard. Configure the Smart Home Cameras widget to feature a set of cameras to give you the widest view around your house.

To configure a Smart Home widget:

  1. Press and hold the widget, then select Configure. Then:
    • On a Smart Home Group widget, select the Group that you want featured on the widget. For more Groups to select, add Smart Home Groups in the Alexa app.
    • On a Smart Home Cameras widget, select a camera, to add as many as six tiles to the widget. Use the arrows to change the order of the tiles. If the widget holds an odd number of tiles, the first one in order appears larger.
  2. Select Done .

Tip: Add multiple Smart Home widgets to your dashboard, and configure them to manage a different Group or set of devices. For example, add two more Smart Home Group widgets to the dashboard, one for Office Group and another for Kitchen Group.

Configure the Smart Home Favorites widget in the Alexa app. Open Home and under Favorites, select Edit. Add or remove devices as favorites to be managed with the Smart Home Favorites widget.

Manage Panels: Smart Home Groups and Devices

The panels on the left of the dashboard give you access to your Alexa Routines and to your Smart Home Groups. Select the Routines panel to start one or more routines remotely. Select a Smart Home Group panel, for example, Living Room, to manage any or all devices in the Living Room group.

To change panels, or their contents, change or add Smart Home Groups by voice or in the Alexa app.

  • To add a Smart Home Group panel on the dashboard, say, "Create a Smart Home Group," or build one in the Alexa app. To change devices shown in a panel, use the Alexa app to add or remove devices in the Group.
  • Routines shown in the Routines panel change when you add, remove, or change a Routine in the Alexa app.

Note: Changes made in the Alexa app might take a few minutes to appear on the dashboard.
