Reset Your Echo Dot Max

If your Echo Dot Max isn't responding, and you've tried to restart it, reset your device.

If your device is unresponsive, first restart your device. Unplug the power adapter from the device or the outlet and wait for 10 seconds. Plug it back in to restart it.

To reset your device and keep your smart home connections:

  1. Press and hold the Volume down and Microphones enable/disable buttons for 15 seconds until voice confirmation.
  2. Wait for the Microphones enable/disable to turn off and on again.
  3. Your device enters setup mode. For setup instructions, go to How to Set Up Echo Dot Max.

To reset your device to its factory settings:

  1. Press and hold the Volume down and Microphones enable/disable buttons for 25 seconds until voice confirmation.
  2. Wait for the Microphones neable/disable to turn off and on again.
  3. Your device enters setup mode. For setup instructions, go to How to Set Up Echo Dot Max.
Note: This reset erases all your personal information and any device and smart home connections.
Tip: If resetting your device isn’t helpful or you no longer want to use your device, Deregister Your Device from your Amazon account. Deregistering your device erases all device settings.
