How to Deregister Your Amazon Device

If you no longer wish to use your device, you can deregister it from your Amazon account.

Deregistering removes a device from your Amazon account and disconnects it from all your digital content and Amazon Services.

Common Reasons to Deregister:

  • Selling or giving away your device
  • Troubleshooting device issues (like Wi-Fi connectivity, content sync, login issues)
  • Switching to a different Amazon account
  • Returning a device for replacement
  • Preparing for device trade-in

Important: After deregistering, your device will temporarily lose access to your Amazon account, purchased content, and Amazon Services. To restore all access, simply register your device again with your Amazon account credentials. Visit Add or Register Device to Amazon Account for more information.
