How to Set Up Fire TV Stick 4K (2nd Generation)
Connect your Fire TV Stick to your TV and follow the on-screen instructions to complete setup.

Basic requirements
To start, have the following parts, accessories, and information ready:
- The Fire TV Stick 4K and in-box accessories
- Alexa Voice Remote, power cable, power adapter, AAA batteries for the remote, and HDMI extender cable (optional)
- A TV with an available HDMI port
- An Amazon account, including your email address or phone number and password
- If you created an account without a password, press the Back button on your remote when prompted to enter your password. Use your mobile phone or computer to visit the on-screen web address (amazon.co.uk/code) and enter the verification code.
- An internet connection, including your Wi-Fi name and password

- Put the batteries into the remote.
- Connect the power cable to the power adapter and the Stick.
- Plug in the Stick to the TV's HDMI port. Use the HDMI extender cable if it's difficult to plug the Stick into the TV's HDMI port.
- Plug in the power adapter to the wall. Avoid plugging the USB cable directly into the TV.
- Turn on your TV and switch to the correct HDMI input.
Tip: Use the remote that came with your TV to select the HDMI source or input.
- To set up Wi-Fi, choose one of the options:
- Use your mobile phone to scan the on-screen QR code to automatically set up Wi-Fi connection.
- Use your Fire TV remote and follow on-screen instructions to manually set up Wi-Fi connection.
- To sign-in or sign up with your Amazon account, choose one of these options:
- Scan the on-screen QR code with your mobile phone.
- Visit the on-screen web address (amazon.co.uk/code) and enter the activation code shown on your screen.
- Follow the on-screen questions to set up equipment control for devices like soundbars.
Remote overview
Your device comes with a remote that you can use to browse your Fire TV. Use the playback buttons to play, pause, rewind, or fast forward video content or the Alexa button for voice commands. You can also use the preset app buttons at the bottom of the remote to navigate quickly to select apps.
To insert batteries, turn your remote upside down and place your thumbs on the back cover. Press firmly and slide the cover down. For best performance, use AAA alkaline batteries.

Troubleshoot setup issues
If setting up your device doesn't go as expected, try the following suggestions:
- If you get a login error or have forgotten your Amazon account password, you can reset your password. Go to Forgot Your Password.
- If your remote doesn't pair automatically, press the Home button
until "Press

- If you're having issues with your Wi-Fi password, contact your internet service provider.
- If you can't download apps or games, add a default payment method. Go to Your Payments.
