How to Set Up Amazon Fire TV Soundbar

Connect the Amazon Fire TV Soundbar to an HDMI port on your TV that supports ARC or eARC.

You can set up your soundbar in several ways:

Using HDMI (With a Fire TV Stick or Fire TV Cube)

  1. Plug your Fire TV Stick or Fire TV Cube into a non-ARC HDMI port on your TV.
  2. Now that the ARC or eARC port is available, connect the included HDMI cable to your soundbar and the ARC or eARC port on your TV.

  3. Set the input on the soundbar to HDMI. To change inputs, press the Input button on the soundbar remote or on the soundbar.
  4. Go to Settings on your Fire TV.
  5. Select Equipment Control.
  6. Select Manage Equipment and then select your Fire TV Stick or Fire TV Cube from the list to set them up again.
  7. If audio doesn't automatically play on the soundbar, check the Speakers or Audio Output setting on your TV to make sure the soundbar or audio system is selected.

  8. Use the included remote to adjust the audio settings on your Fire TV Soundbar. If your soundbar is connected to your TV’s ARC or eARC input, you can use your TV remote to control the volume and power.

Using Optical (With a Fire TV Stick, Fire TV Cube, or Fire TV Smart TV)

  1. Connect the soundbar to your TV's optical port using an optical cable (sold separately).
  2. Set the input on the soundbar to Optical. To change inputs, press the Input button on the soundbar remote or on the soundbar.
  3. Go to Settings on your Fire TV.
  4. Select Equipment Control, and then select Manage Equipment.
  5. Select Add Equipment.
  6. Select Soundbar, and then select Amazon Fire TV Soundbar.
  7. Follow the on-screen instructions to configure your Fire TV Soundbar for volume and power control with your Fire TV remote.

Using Bluetooth (With a Fire TV Stick or Fire TV Cube)

Tip: To pair your soundbar with other Bluetooth devices, follow the instructions in Pair Bluetooth Devices to Amazon Fire TV Soundbar.
  1. Disconnect the soundbar's HDMI or optical cable from your TV.
    Note: Connecting the soundbar to your TV using both Bluetooth and HDMI may cause connection issues.
  2. Press and hold the Bluetooth button on your soundbar or the included remote.
  3. Release the button after your soundbar blinks blue and enters discovery mode.
  4. Go to Settings on your Fire TV Stick or Fire TV Cube.
  5. Select Controllers & Bluetooth Devices.
  6. Select Other Bluetooth Devices, and then select Add Bluetooth Devices.
  7. Select Fire TV Soundbar from the list of available devices.

Using HDMI (With a Smart TV)

  1. Plug the included power cable into the back of the soundbar, and then plug the cord into a power outlet.
  2. Connect the included HDMI cable to your soundbar and an ARC or eARC supported port on your TV.

  3. If audio doesn't automatically play on the soundbar, check the Speakers or Audio Output setting on your TV to make sure the soundbar or audio system is selected.

  4. Set the input on the soundbar to HDMI. To change inputs, press the Input button on the soundbar remote or on the soundbar.
  5. Use the included remote to adjust the audio settings on your Fire TV Soundbar. If your soundbar is connected to your TV’s ARC or eARC input, you can use your TV remote to control the volume and power.

Using Optical (With a Smart TV)

  1. Connect the soundbar to your TV's optical port using an optical cable (sold separately).
