App Crashes or Won't Load on Your Fire TV

If your downloaded app is not working as expected, clear the app cache and data, or restart your device.

If an app on your Fire TV crashes, won't open or isn't responding, try these steps:

  • Restart your Fire TV device. You can restart from Settings or unplug the power adapter for one minute, and then plug it back in.
  • Clear the app cache and data. This resets the app without deleting it. Go to Clear App Data and Cache on Fire TV.
  • Uninstall and reinstall the app. This ensures you have the latest version. Go to Uninstall Games & Apps on Your Fire TV.
  • Check for a Fire TV software update. An outdated system can cause app issues. Please follow the below steps:
    1. Go to Settings from your Fire TV menu.
    2. Select My Fire TV or Devices & Software.
    3. Select About.
    4. Select Check for System Update.
