Enroll in Visual ID on Your Echo Devices with a Screen

Create a visual ID for a personalized Alexa experience on your compatible Echo device with a screen.

Note: Settings menu items for the Echo Hub and Echo Show 5 (all generations) may vary, and those devices will receive a software update soon.

When you set up your Echo device with a screen, you can create a visual ID for each member of your household. You can also set up visual ID later.

To enroll in visual ID after setting up your device:

  1. Say, "Go to settings," or swipe down from the top of the screen and select Settings.
  2. Select Accounts & Profiles.
  3. SelectYour Profile & Family.
  4. Select a profile, then select Recognition IDs.
  5. Select Visual ID.
  6. Select Add visual ID to this Echo.
  7. Select Agree & Continue and follow the steps on your device.
Tip: To complete setup, your camera shutter must be open.

Your visual ID and facial images are securely stored on your device. If you have multiple Echo devices that you want to use visual ID on, you must enroll on each device.
