What Is Visual ID on Echo Show?

Visual ID lets Alexa recognize you and display personalized content on compatible Echo Show devices.

Visual ID is available on:

  • Echo Show 8 (2nd Generation or newer)
  • Echo Show 10 (3rd Generation)
  • Echo Show 11 (2025 release)
  • Echo Show 15
  • Echo Show 21

Visual ID uses on-device facial recognition to provide a personalized experience on your Echo Show. When Alexa recognizes you, the device shows content from your Alexa profile, such as your calendars and reminders, skills, or interests.

Other things to know:

  • Visual ID is an opt-in Alexa Profile feature. It isn't on by default.
  • You can delete your Visual ID at any time on your device or in the Alexa app.
  • You can turn off Visual ID temporarily. Press the Microphones & Camera Enable/Disable button to turn off the camera and microphones.
  • Your household members can also enroll in Visual ID.
