Delete Your Visual ID on Echo Devices with a Screen

You can delete Visual ID from your Echo Show device or turn it off temporarily.

Note: Settings menu items for the Echo Hub and Echo Show 5 (all generations) may vary, and those devices will receive a software update soon.

To delete your Visual ID:

  1. Say, "Go to Settings," or go to the device settings on your Echo Show:
    • If you're using Alexa+, select the Menu icon on your screen, and then select Settings.
    • If you're using the original Alexa, swipe down from the top of the screen and select Settings.
  2. Select Acounts & Profiles.
  3. Select Your Profile & Family.
  4. Select Visual ID.
  5. Select Delete visual ID.

Note: Visual ID isn't supported if the camera is disabled, camera shutter is closed, or the Microphones & Camera Enable/Disable button is pressed.

To turn off Visual ID temporarily, press the Microphones & Camera Enable/Disable button to turn off the camera and microphones.
