Ordering from a Marketplace Seller

Marketplace sellers are independent sellers who offer a variety of new, used and refurbished items.

Identifying items sold by a Marketplace seller

To find who's selling and fulfilling an item, check the Dispatches from and Sold by information under the Buy Now button:

  • Items that are both sold and fulfilled by a Marketplace seller are displayed as:
    • Sold by (Seller Name)
    • Dispatches from (Seller Name)
  • Items sold by a Marketplace seller and Fulfilled by Amazon are displayed as:
    • Sold by (Seller Name)
    • Dispatches from Amazon
  • Items that are both sold and dispatched by Amazon are displayed as:
    • Sold by Amazon
    • Dispatches from Amazon

If multiple sellers offer the same item, the New & Used option displays all sellers' product conditions, and prices separately.

Placing an order

Ordering from a Marketplace seller works just like any other Amazon purchase:

  1. Add the item that you want to purchase to your basket.
  2. Follow the prompts to complete your order through the checkout process.
  3. After your order is placed, Amazon sends your payment to the seller without sharing your payment information.
  4. If the item isn't Fulfilled by Amazon or dispatched via Prime, the seller will fulfill your order.

Payment and security

We send your funds to the Marketplace seller, but won't share your payment information. Always send payment to a Marketplace seller through Amazon. Regard any request to make a payment outside of Amazon (for example, using MoneyGram, Western Union, bank transfer) as fraudulent. Contact us to report the seller.

Cancelling a Marketplace order

You can usually cancel a Marketplace order through Your Orders within 30 minutes of placing it. After this time, you'll need to ask the seller to cancel your order before it ships.

If your order shipped directly from a seller and can't be modified, contact the seller for instructions.

For more information about cancelling orders, visit Cancel Items and Orders.

Getting help with your Marketplace order

Usually, if an item is displayed as Dispatches from (Seller name), the seller handles their own customer service. Contact a Marketplace Seller to ask questions about their items.

For items displayed as Dispatches from Amazon, and for items displaying the Prime logo, contact Amazon customer service for assistance.

Resolving disputes

If you have a problem with a Marketplace order, you may be eligible to file an A-to-z Guarantee claim.

Marketplace pricing

Sellers set their own prices for the items they sell on Amazon. Prices for similar items can vary between different sellers.

Seller inventory

Marketplace sellers aim to maintain an accurate inventory. Occasionally a listed item may become unavailable by the time you place your order. We require sellers to minimise these stock issues.
