Use VoiceView Over Bluetooth on Kindle
Pair your supported Bluetooth audio device with your compatible Kindle device to start VoiceView.
Note: VoiceView over Bluetooth only reads in English language. If your device is set to a different language, you'll be prompted to switch your device language to English.
Before connecting your Kindle to your accessory, please review all the setup instructions for your Bluetooth audio device. There is no audio announcement or feedback until the last step.
- For 11th Generation and newer Kindle E-Readers:
- Place your Bluetooth audio device into pairing mode.
- Press the Power button three times within two seconds to initiate VoiceView.
- When you hear audio from your Bluetooth device (within two minutes), hold two fingers spaced apart on the screen to confirm the pairing.
- For previous generation Kindle E-readers:
- Place your Bluetooth audio device into pairing mode.
- Press and hold the power button on your Kindle for nine seconds. Then press two fingers spaced apart on the screen for one second.
- When you hear audio from your Bluetooth device (within two minutes), hold two fingers spaced apart on the screen to confirm the pairing.
After pairing to a Bluetooth audio device, VoiceView will save the connection. - There are a few ways to turn off or suspend VoiceView on your Kindle.
- Turn off your Bluetooth audio device.
- On your Kindle, select the Quick Actions menu at the top of the screen, and then double tap to open the menu. Select VoiceView Screen Reader, and then select and double tap Off.
- To suspend VoiceView press the power button on your Kindle. VoiceView resumes within around five seconds when you wake the Kindle. To wake, press the Kindle power button once, and then double tap on the screen.
