Download the VoiceView Audio File for Your Kindle
If you’ve recently factory reset your Kindle, you need to re-download the audio file for your device to use VoiceView.
Note: VoiceView over Bluetooth only reads in English language. If your device is set to a different language, you'll be prompted to switch your device language to English.
To download and install the audio file:
- Check your software version. If your Kindle is not on the latest software version, you need to update your device to the latest available version. To learn more, go to Kindle E-Reader Software Updates.
- Download the audio file for your device model:
- Audio file for Kindle Scribe - 2024 release
- Audio file for Kindle Colorsoft Signature (1st Generation) - 2024 release
- Audio file for Kindle Paperwhite (12th Generation) and Kindle Paperwhite (12th Generation) Kids Edition - 2024 release
- Audio file for Kindle (11th Generation) and Kindle (11th Generation) Kids Edition - 2024 release
- Audio file for Kindle Scribe - 2022 release
- Audio file for Kindle (11th Generation) and Kindle (11th Generation) Kids Edition - 2022 release
- Audio file for Kindle Paperwhite (11th Generation), Kindle Paperwhite (11th Generation) Signature Edition, and Kindle Paperwhite (11th Generation) Kids Edition
- Audio file for Kindle Oasis (10th Generation)
- Audio file for Kindle (10th Generation) and Kindle (10th Generation) Kids Edition

- Turn on your Kindle and plug it into your computer using the USB cable.
- Drag and drop the file from your computer into the Kindle drive.
- Monitor the transfer to ensure the file transfers successfully.
- Eject the Kindle to safely disconnect your Kindle from your computer, and then disconnect the USB cable from your Kindle and your computer.
- Hold the power button on your Kindle for 20 seconds.
- Wait one minute while your Kindle restarts and installs the voice file.
