Turn Adaptive Content On or Off

Adaptive Content optimizes the home screen content on your Echo devices with a screen depending on your distance from the device. Use your device settings to turn Adaptive content on or off.

Note: Settings menu items for the Echo Hub and Echo Show 5 (all generations) may vary, and those devices will receive a software update soon.

Adaptive Content is an optional setting, and is turned on by default.

To turn Adaptive Content on or off:

  1. Swipe down from the top of the screen and select Settings.
  2. Select Display & Appearance.
  3. Select Adaptive Content.
  4. Use the switch to turn Adaptive Content on or off. When it's turned off, you can choose the default setting on your device to be Detailed (for near viewing) or Minimal (for far viewing).
Note: Adaptive Content will not work if your device's camera shutter is closed, or if the mute button is pressed. You can use the camera shutter and or the mute button to temporarily turn off Adaptive Content.
