Use your voice, or a few touches, when you're leaving or coming back in.

Note: The following steps and procedures apply to Ring Alarm, the home security system currently compatible with Echo Hub.

Before using the Echo Hub to manage your security system, use the Alexa app to install the Alexa skill for the system. The process includes setting up a four-digit access code.

  1. Select the Security shortcut, then select Away.
  2. An exit delay begins. Make sure you exit and close all doors before the exit delay expires.
  3. When the exit delay expires, the system begins monitoring in its Armed state.

When You Return Home - Set to Disarmed

Say, "Disarm Ring." When asked, clearly speak your four-digit access code.

On the Echo Hub:

  1. Select the Away icon on the Echo Hub, to open the Security side panel and see the entry delay timer. The entry delay starts when you open a monitored door.
  2. Enter your four-digit access code.
  3. The system transitions to Disarmed if you enter the correct access code before the entry delay timer expires.

When You're in, but Want Protection - Set to Home

Say, "Arm Ring for Home."

On the Echo Hub:

  1. Select the Security shortcut, then select Home.
  2. An exit delay begins, for a duration according to your security system's settings.
  3. When the exit delay expires, the system enters Home state and begins monitoring its perimeter sensors.
