Connect Your Home Security System to Echo Hub
Use Echo Hub to arm, disarm, and monitor your Ring Alarm or other home security system.
The Echo Hub can serve as the control panel for your connected home security system. A system connected to Alexa creates a Security shortcut on the Home Dashboard, and allows voice and touch control with Echo Hub.
Note: The following steps and procedures apply to Ring Alarm, the home security system currently compatible with Echo Hub.
To set Echo Hub to manage your Ring Alarm, load and activate the Ring skill in the Alexa app.
- Open the Alexa app
.
- Open More
, then select Skills & Games.
- Use Search Alexa Skills to find the Ring skill. Select it and then select Enable.
- In setting up the skill, sign in to your Ring account, to link it to your Alexa account.
- After you sign in, Alexa looks for Ring devices and connects with them automatically. If you don't want a particular device to connect, select Forget.
Your alarm system appears in your Devices list in the Alexa app.
Next, set an access code for your system, to use with Alexa and the Echo Hub.
- Open the Alexa app
.
- Select your Ring Alarm system, then select Settings
.
- Under Disarm by Voice and Echo Hub, turn on Enable/disarm.
- Enter and confirm a 4-digit access code.
To disarm your Ring Alarm when you return home, enter the access code on your Echo Hub, by voice or by touch.
Note: Ring Alarm and all Ring Alarm accessories require a subscription for in-app features and notifications, including arming / disarming, and integration with other Ring, Echo, Alexa, and third-party products.
