Import Files from Google Drive or Microsoft OneDrive to Kindle Scribe
Import a copy of your compatible files to your Kindle Scribe and add notes and highlights.
- You need a Kindle Scribe released in 2025 or later.
- You need to register your Kindle Scribe to an Amazon account and connect it to the internet.
- You need a Google or Microsoft account.

Important: When you add notes and highlights to imported files on Kindle Scribe, they don't sync back to the cloud drive. You can upload a PDF copy of your annotated files back to the cloud drive.
Import files following these steps:
- To access your cloud drives, tap the connections icon
in the main toolbar. - Tap the service from which you want to import files.
- From the cloud drive screen, identify your file and tap Import.
The import option only shows for files compatible with Kindle. If your file is in a folder, open the folder to import the file.
You can filter by file type on Google Drive. Microsoft OneDrive doesn’t offer the option to filter files currently. You can also use the search bar at the top to locate specific files. Sort options are available through default, filter, and search results lists.
Importing may take up to a few minutes to convert to Kindle format.
- Long-press on a file to open a 1-page read-only view.
- Tap Import and immediately start importing the file using your default import settings.
- Alternatively, long-press on Import to rename the file, select a Workspace location, and select the format for Word files before importing.

Your in-progress and completed imports continue to show in the import history menu. Import History only shows the last 50 files imported within the last 24 hours.
