How to Set Up Your Echo Show 15 (2nd Generation)

Basic Requirements

To start, have the following parts, accessories, and information ready:

  • Your Echo Show 15 and in-box accessories:
    • Alexa Voice Remote and AAA batteries for the remote
    • Wall mount bracket, four screws, and four anchors
    • Power adapter with cable wrap
  • An Amazon account, including your email address or phone number and password.
  • An internet connection, including your Wi-Fi name and password.
  • If you plan to mount your device on the wall: Electric drill with 5/16" (8 mm) drill bit and #2 driver bit, level or level app, hammer, and wall-safe tape.

How to Set Up Your Echo Show

To set up your device:

  1. Plug in your Echo Show with the included power adapter.
  2. Select a device language.
  3. Connect to your Wi-Fi network.
  4. Log in to your Amazon account and register your device.
  5. Continue following the on-screen steps to set up and customize your device.

When you see the Alexa home screen and clock, your device is ready to use.

Remote Overview

Your device comes with a remote that you can use to browse and play Fire TV content on your Echo Show 15. To insert the batteries, turn your remote upside down and place your thumbs on the back cover. Press firmly and slide the cover down. For best performance, use alkaline batteries. To pair your remote, follow the steps in Pair an Alexa Voice Remote with Your Compatible Echo Devices with a Screen. Note: There are no LED light indicators on the Alea Voice Remote.

Note: The remote controls only the Fire TV experience. While your Echo Show is on the Home screen, you can press the remote's Home Button to launch the Fire TV experience.

Privacy and Support

Turn off the Echo Show 15 device microphones by pressing the Microphone off Button on top of the device.

A blue indicator light on the device screen means that Alexa is listening and processing your request in Amazon's secure cloud.

Troubleshoot Setup Issues

If setting up your device doesn't go as expected, here are some suggestions:

  • If you get a login error or have forgotten your Amazon account password, you can reset your password. Go to Forgot Your Password.
  • If you can't find your network or connect to Wi-Fi, you can find more troubleshooting available in Echo Device Can't Connect to Wi-Fi During Setup.
  • If you're having issues with your Wi-Fi password, contact your internet service provider.
  • If your Echo device is highlighting on-screen items or reading them out loud when you select them, the VoiceView Screen Reader may be on. To turn off VoiceView you can say, "Turn off VoiceView," or:
    1. Press and hold the Microphone/Camera button until there is a sound.
    2. Let go of the Microphone/Camera button.
    3. Use a single finger to double tap the screen and hold for five seconds.
