What are Child Profile Settings on Fire Tablet?

How to manage personalized Amazon Kids profiles and content on Fire Tablet.

Once you create a child profile, you can access a wide range of options on-device to manage your child’s experience. You can also access many of these options remotely on a browser using the Parent Dashboard. Visit https://www.amazon.com/parentdashboard/ for more information.

Feature: How to:
Set Age Filters
  1. Select the Grownups menu on the top right.
  2. Select Settings.
  3. Choose an adult profile and enter the associated PIN.
  4. Select Launch or scan the QR code to open on your phone.
  5. Select the Settings icon next to the desired child profile.
  6. Toggle Age Filters to On and configure as desired.
Add or remove content from child profile
  1. Select the Grownups menu on the top right.
  2. Select Manage Content.
  3. Select if you want to share content from your:
    1. Library.
    2. Amazon Kids+ subscription.
    3. Device storage
    4. Web content
  4. Choose an adult profile and enter the associated PIN.
  5. Select the content you wish to share, then select Done.
Manage in-app purchase requests
  1. Select the Grownups menu on the top right.
  2. Select Settings.
  3. Choose an adult profile and enter the associated PIN.
  4. Select Launch or scan the QR code to open on your phone.
  5. Select the Settings icon next to the desired child profile.
  6. Select In-App Purchase Requests and configure as desired.
Manage store access
  1. Select the Grownups menu on the top right.
  2. Select Settings.
  3. Choose an adult profile and enter the associated PIN.
  4. Select Launch or scan the QR code to open on your phone.
  5. Select the Settings icon next to the desired child profile.
  6. Select Store and configure as desired.
View your child’s web history
  1. Select the Grownups menu on the top right.
  2. Select Settings.
  3. Choose an adult profile and enter the associated PIN.
  4. Select Launch or scan the QR code to open on your phone.
  5. Select Recent activity next to the desired child profile.
  6. Select Web from the list of categories.
Control access to camera and photo gallery
  1. Select the Grownups menu on the top right.
  2. Select Settings.
  3. Choose an adult profile and enter the associated PIN.
  4. Select Other Settings.
  5. Toggle Enable Camera & Photo Gallery to On or Off.
Display profile on lock screen
  1. Select the Grownups menu on the top right.
  2. Select Settings.
  3. Choose an adult profile and enter the associated PIN.
  4. Select Other Settings.
  5. Select Lock Screen.
  6. Toggle Show Profile on Lock Screen to On.
Set up Bluetooth in child profile
Note: Bluetooth connection doesn’t carry over when switching profiles. You will need to re-connect your Bluetooth device after switching.
  1. In the Child Profile, swipe down from the top of the screen to view Quick Settings.
  2. Press and hold the Bluetooth icon until the list of adult profiles appears.
  3. Choose an adult profile and enter the associated PIN.
  4. Toggle Bluetooth to On.
  5. Tap Pair new device.
Set up volume limits in child profile
  1. Select the Grownups menuon the top right.
  2. Select Settings.
  3. Choose an adult profile and enter the associated PIN.
  4. Select Other Settings.
  5. Select Set Max Volume.
  6. Toggle to On, then configure as desired.
Restrict a child from switching to another child profile

To restrict a child from switching to another child profile, parents will need to set up a child PIN for each child profile. To create a child PIN from a child profile:

  1. Select the Grownups menuon the top right.
  2. Select Settings.
  3. Choose an adult profile and enter the associated PIN.
  4. Select Other Settings.
  5. Select Lock Screen.
  6. Toggle Enable Child’s Lock Screen Password to On.
  7. Configure new PIN or password as desired.

You will need to enter this pin any time you want to exit out of that specific child profile.
