Use Your Fire TV Cube to Switch to a Set-Top Box Connected to Your TV
After you set up equipment control, you can use Alexa voice commands to do things like switch inputs or go to specific channels.
The set-top box and Fire TV Cube need to be within line of sight of each other.
For a list of supported set-top box providers, go to Supported Set-Top Box Providers on Fire TV Cube. If you're connecting your set-top box directly to your Fire TV Cube, go to Control Your Set-Top Box on Fire TV Cube.
To set up equipment control for devices connected to your TV's HDMI input:
- Go to Settings
on your Fire TV Cube.
- Select Equipment Control.
- Select Manage Equipment.
- Select Add Equipment.
- Select Live TV.
- Select Set-top box.
Select Satellite or Cable depending on your setup.
- Choose your TV provider or select Provider not listed.
Note: Selecting Provider not listed will exit the setup process.
- Use your TV remote to switch to a live channel. After the channel switches, press the Fast Forward button
on your Fire TV remote.
- Follow the on-screen prompts to complete setup.
Once set up is complete, you can use the following Alexa voice commands in the table below to control your set-top box:
