How to Set Up Another Smart Home System's Matter Device with Alexa

If you have a Matter device connected to another assistant, you can connect the same device with Alexa too.

Tip: You’ll need an 11-digit setup code from the app that you already set up the device with. To find the setup code, check the device settings in the related app. Then start setup in the Alexa app.

Open the Alexa app .
Open Devices .
Select the plus icon .
Select Add Device.
Select Other from the bottom of the list.
Select matter.
To confirm that you have a Matter device, select Yes.
Select TRY NUMERIC CODE INSTEAD? Then enter the 11-digit setup code, and follow the on-screen instructions.

Note:

The Matter QR/setup code that is on the device or the device packaging is only for use when initially setting up your device.

Once connected to a smart home system or assistant, you must generate a new code before adding the device to another assistant.
