Set Up Another Voice Assistant's Matter Device to Alexa

If you have a Matter device connected to another voice assistant, you can connect the same device to Alexa.

Note: The Matter QR/pairing code found on the device or device packaging is only for use when initially setting up your device or after a factory reset.

  1. Generate an 11-digit pairing code from the app that you already set up the device with.
    1. To find the code, check the voice assistant's app for instructions on how to create a pairing code.
  2. Open the Alexa app .
  3. Open Devices .
  4. Select the plus icon .
  5. Select Add Device.
  6. Select the matter icon from the Shortcuts bar.
  7. Select Yes to confirm you have a Matter device.
  8. Select Try Numeric Code Instead?
  9. Enter the 11-digit pairing code and follow the on-screen instructions.
