What Are Personal Documents?

Personal Documents are files such as PDFs and Word documents can be added to your Kindle library and read in Kindle for Windows.

Supported file types include:

• PDF (.PDF)
• Microsoft Word (.DOC, .DOCX)
• Text (.TXT)
• Images (.JPG, .JPEG, .PNG, .BMP, .GIF)
• RTF (.RTF)
• HTML (.HTML, .HTM)
• EPUB

Files that you import through the Kindle for PC app are labeled "PDFs." These files won’t sync to your other Kindle devices.

In Kindle for PC, you can browse your documents in the Library menu on the left. Downloaded files are labeled with a checkmark.
