How to Factory Reset Your Alexa Tablet

Factory reset your device before gifting or selling a device, and in some cases for troubleshooting.

Important: Factory reset removes your account information and downloaded content including in-app purchases and returns the device to its original factory settings.

You need your device screen lock Password, PIN, or Pattern to factory reset your device. If you have forgotten your screen lock Password, PIN, or Pattern, Reset Your Tablet in Fastboot Mode.

To factory reset your Alexa Tablet:

  1. Go to Settings.
  2. Select System.
  3. Select Reset option and choose Erase all data.
    Note: Make sure to save any data as the Factory reset erases all data from your device.
  4. Confirm when prompted to reset your device.
  5. Factory reset deregisters your device from your Amazon account. To use the device, register it again.
