Reset Your Tablet Manually with Fastboot Mode

If you forgot your device screen lock Password, PIN, or Pattern and can’t reset the device in Settings, you can manually reset it with Fastboot mode.

Note: This information is applicable to Alexa Tablet or Amazon Kids Tablet.
Turn on Fastboot mode and factory reset the Tablet:
Note: Factory reset erases all data from your device. This is only recommended if you forgot the device lock password/PIN/Pattern.
  1. Press and hold the Power button for a few seconds to turn off your device.
  2. Hold the device in portrait orientation or vertically. Press and hold Power button and up Volume button (closest to the power button) up to 30 seconds until the Android recovery screen appears.
  3. The screen shows a dead Android robot with "No command" text.
  4. Press and hold the Power button and tap the Volume button (closest to the power button) one time to enter the Fastboot mode.
  5. Use the Volume buttons to scroll down and select Wipe Data/ Factory using the Power button.
  6. Use the Volume buttons to navigate to Factory data reset or Yes.
  7. Press the Power button to confirm your selection.
  8. The device wipes and returns to the recovery menu.
  9. Select Power off to exit from Fastboot mode. Alternatively, you can choose reboot system now to power on your device.
    Note: Hold the device in portrait orientation or vertically.
  10. Your device is now ready to use. Press Power button to power on the device and complete the device registration.
    Note: You may be asked to authenticate yourself via Google account before re-registering the device.
