Fire TV Smart TV Is Unresponsive
Use these tips to help get your Fire TV Smart TV back up and running.
- Replace the batteries in your remote.
- Follow the instructions in Use Your Mobile Device Like a Fire TV Remote to try controlling your TV with the Fire TV app.
- Use the power cable that came with your Fire TV Smart TV.
- Restart your Fire TV Smart TV in one of the following ways:
- Press and hold the Play/Pause and Select buttons
together for 3-5 seconds.
- Unplug the power cord from your Fire TV Smart TV or wall outlet for at least 30 seconds, and then plug it back in.
- Press and hold the Play/Pause and Select buttons
- Connect the power cable to a different power outlet.
- Reset your Fire TV Smart TV to factory settings:
- Press and hold the Back button
and Right button
together for 10 seconds.
- Select the on-screen option to continue with the factory reset.
- Press and hold the Back button
- If you can't reset your Fire TV Smart TV using your remote, try resetting from recovery mode:
- Unplug the power cable from your Fire TV Smart TV or wall outlet.
- Press and hold the physical power button that's located on the TV. Keep holding the power button while performing the following steps:
- Plug the power cord back into your Fire TV Smart TV or wall outlet.
- Wait for the Fire TV logo to appear on the TV screen.
- Release the power button.
- Use your remote to select the factory reset option within the recovery mode menu.
