Managing Reminders and Tasks with Alexa+

Alexa+ helps you stay on top of your tasks.

A single task list shows your reminders and to-dos for easy reference. You can access your task list at any time by asking Alexa "What's on my task list?" or "What are my reminders?" or in the "Reminders & Tasks" section of the Alexa apps on iOS and Android.

You can display the task list on your Echo Show's home screen by installing the widget for "Reminders & Tasks."

Just say, "Remind me to walk the dog every day" or "Add water the plants to my to-do list." When your reminder is due, Alexa alerts you with a voice announcement and phone notification.

Reminders by default ring on the device that you set it on.

Just tell Alexa what you want a reminder for, and when to remind you.

  • "Remind me to schedule a haircut."
  • "Tell me to feed the fish at 8 o'clock."
  • "Add change tires to my task list."
  • "Add book dentist appointment to my to-dos."

Set Recurring Reminders

  • "Remind me to stretch every day at 9 am."
  • "Remind me to call Dad every Saturday."

Assign Personal Reminders

  • "Remind Vinny to stop watching TV in an hour."
  • "Remind James to get the dress tomorrow at 6 pm."
  • "When you see Jill, remind her to feed the fish."

Note: When assigning a reminder to someone else, please make sure they already have created a profile on Alexa. For more help, go to: What Are Alexa Profiles?.
Tip: Presence-based reminders (like “When you see Jill, remind…”) require that the recipient has set up Visual ID on the device. To learn more about Visual ID, go to What Is Visual ID on Echo Show?.

Ask Alexa to Follow Up for Important Reminders

  • Ask Alexa to follow up on your reminders using the examples below. Alexa sends you reminder notifications every hour or day until you confirm that you've completed the task. "Make sure that I take out the trash bins."
  • "Follow up on my reminder to pay rent."
  • "Create a follow-up reminder."

Snooze Reminders

  • "Snooze reminder for 20 minutes."
  • "Remind me again in an hour."

Check Reminders for Yourself or Others

  • "What are my reminders?"
  • "What are my Monday reminders?"
  • "What are John's reminders?"
  • "What are John's tasks?"
  • "What are my tasks today?"

Note: If you set up VisualID or VoiceID for your profile, Alexa responds more easily to you with reminders applicable to you.

Manage Reminders in the Alexa App

Edit or add to reminders in the Alexa app on your phone or mobile device. Alexa can also send reminders to your phone. Your tasks and reminders are visible to everyone in your household.

Note: If you reset or deregister your device, any reminders that you set up on your device may be lost.
