Self-Ship Guidance for International Returns
This page contains information on international returns of products fulfilled by Amazon and some helpful tips you can follow when Self-Shipping.
Self-Ship is the convenient return option for you if drop-off or pick-up locations are unsuitable or unavailable. To help you complete your return successfully, here are a few easy steps you need to follow:
Request a refund:
Follow guidance via the Online Returns Centre to select the item you wish to return. You will see different return options depending on the seller, item, or reason for return. For further information visit our Returns help pages. If drop off or pick-up locations are unsuitable or unavailable, you will be presented with Self-Ship and asked to print your return label, return authorisation and commercial invoices.
Pack your item
Make sure you pack your item securely, following the instructions sent to you when you requested your return. Please note that the returns label will include several printouts, all of which are necessary for a successful return:
- Place the 'Return Authorisation Label' in the package.
- Attach the 'Return Mailing Label' to the outside of the package as instructed.
- You are provided with two Commercial Invoices. Attach one to the outside of the package, as instructed and hand the second copy to the carrier.
Choosing your carrier
Larger carriers with international presence are better set up to complete international returns than smaller domestic carriers. For that reason, we recommend using a carrier such as DHL or UPS. You can find further information as well as drop off locations via their websites below:
You can compare shipping rates across multiple carriers using independent third-party online comparison tools. Simply enter your package details (size, weight, destination) and the tools can help you find cost-effective shipping options. Please note that these tools may have their own terms and conditions.
Providing documentation
The label provided via the Online Return Centre will contain all the information needed to complete an international return. Just remember to follow the instructions outlined within 'Pack your item', taking care to a ttach the 'Return Mailing Label' and one 'Commercial Invoice; to the outside of the package, providing the other invoice to your carrier.
Await your refund
You can view the status of a return or a refund in Your Orders by selecting View Return/Refund Status next to the relevant order. Your refund and how your refund is issued may differ based on the condition of the item, how long you've had the item, and how the item was purchased. After the carrier has received your item, it can take up to two weeks for us to receive and process your return . Once we have processed your return, you will receive an email confirming that your refund is on its way. It can take an additional 5-7 business days to see your refund in your account.
