Notes on Your Echo Devices with a Screen

Leave at-a-glance notes or video messages for everyone in the home to see.

Notes let you share information with everyone in your home.

To leave a note with your voice, say something like:

  • "Create a note."
  • "Add a note."
  • "Make a video note."
  • "Create a video note."
  • "Leave a note for Carlos to take out the trash."

To create and leave messages with touch, select the notes card on Alexa Home, or use the notes widget.

Notes pin to the device used to create them. To access notes on that device, say "Show my notes," to show all notes from all of your devices. You can also say:

  • "Open the third note."
  • "Unpin the second note."
  • "Delete all notes."

Tip: Video Notes play automatically in a loop when opened. Select the Expand button to open it full-screen.

To access notes by touch, select Notes , at the top-right corner of your screen. The Notes widget on your Alexa Home also shows up to three of the newest Notes. Select the widget to see all Notes and create more.

If your device doesn't support widgets, find your recent notes in a card on Alexa Home.

To see notes in the Alexa app on your mobile device, go to the Notes tab in the Lists and Notes section.

Note: Anyone with access to your device can see and delete notes left on the device. Parents can review, edit, or delete content from kids' accounts.

Video Notes are available on all Echo devices with a screen, except Echo Show (1st and 2nd Generation) or Echo Spot devices.
