Reset Your Echo Plus (1st Generation)
If your Echo Plus (1st Generation) is unresponsive, or you want to erase your device settings, factory reset your device.
If your device is unresponsive, first restart your device. Unplug the power adapter from the device or the outlet and wait for 10 seconds. Plug it back in to restart it.
To reset your device and keep your smart home connections:
- Press and hold the Reset button briefly with a paper clip (or similar tool).
- Wait for the light ring to turn off and on again.
- Your device enters setup mode. For setup instructions, go to Set Up Your Echo Plus.
To reset your device to its factory settings:
- Press and hold the Reset button for 8 seconds with a paper clip (or similar tool).
- Wait for the light ring to turn off and on again.
- Your device enters setup mode. For setup instructions, go to Set Up Your Echo Plus.
Note: This reset erases all your personal information and any device and smart home connections.
Tip: If resetting your device isn’t helpful or you no longer want to use your device,
Deregister Your Device from your Amazon account. Deregistering your device erases all device settings.
