Watch Live TV on Fire TV

You can watch live TV on supported apps and browse what's airing from the Fire TV home screen.

Note: Some apps require a paid subscription.

To watch live TV on your device:

  1. Download apps that offer live TV content from the app store.
    Note: If you have a Fire TV Smart TV, you can connect a live TV source (like a digital antenna) to your device. To learn more, visit Connect a Live TV Source to Your Fire TV Smart TV.
  2. Scan for channels:
    1. Go to Settings on your Fire TV.
    2. Select Live TV .
    3. Select Channel Scan.
    4. Follow the on-screen instructions.
  3. Choose a show that you'd like to watch. To browse what's currently airing, go to the On Now row on your home screen or use the Guide button on your remote. You can also use the Live tab on your home screen.

You can customize or favorite channels on your Fire TV. To add a favorite or manage channels on your Live TV:

  1. While watching a channel, select the Left button on your remote to open Channel Guide.
    Note: For applicable remotes, you can also press the Guide button on your remote.
  2. Select the Menu and then select Add & Manage Channels.
  3. Choose the channel that you want to manage.
  4. Select the Right button on your remote to add favorite, sort, or hide channels.
