Warranty Repairs

Some products sold directly by Amazon and Amazon Resale that are covered under a manufacturer's warranty may be eligible for repair by a third-party repair service provider authorized by select manufacturers to repair their products.

Note: It's important that you back up any files and remove any passwords before sending an item for repair. We also recommend that you remove any personal data and only send what was included in the original box.

The repairer will issue a replacement with the same item or with a similar one, or a refund if a replacement isn't available, instead of a repair for the following cases:

  • The item is eligible for repair and is still under the manufacturer's warranty, but it can't be repaired.
  • The cost of the repair is prohibitive.

What Items Can Be Repaired?

If your item appears to be defective more than 30 days after the receipt of the order, it might be eligible for the repair service. If your item is eligible for repair, you'll be offered this as an option in Your Orders. This option allows you to send the item directly to the third-party repair center. To learn how to create a repair label, see the Create a Repair Label help page.

To repair and return your item to you, the third-party repair center will need your contact details. We'll supply your name, email address, and return postal address to the third-party repair center. We require the third-party repair center to comply with relevant data protection legislation in relation to such information. We'll send your contact details to the third-party repair center only as required by the repair service. For more information on how we collect and process your personal information, read our Privacy Notice.

How Long Will the Repair Take?

When you send your item directly to the third-party repair center, you'll receive a confirmation email when they receive it. The third-party repair center will inspect the item and diagnose the issue. If the defect is covered by the manufacturer's warranty, the item will be repaired free of charge by the third-party repair center, and returned to you at no additional cost.Usually repairs take up to 14 business days (including delivery time), but could take slightly longer.

For on-site repairs, our third-party repairer receives a notification when you create your repair request. The repairer will contact you by phone within one business day to discuss the issue and, if necessary, to arrange a call out. If the repairer isn't able to reach you by phone, they'll send an email to the address registered with your Amazon.co.uk account.

How Much Will the Repair Cost?

  • Sending your item for a repair and the repair itself is, generally, free of charge. Any postage costs will be reimbursed using the payment method used for the order. We'll return your repaired item to you as soon as possible, with no shipping costs.
  • If the problem isn't covered by the manufacturer's warranty or if the warranty has been voided, you'll be contacted by the third-party repairer with a repair estimate. You can decide whether to ask the third-party repairer to proceed with the repair at an additional cost, or, if you've sent the item for repair, you can choose to have the item returned to you free of charge. Payment for such repairs, including any applicable delivery charges, will be made directly to the third-party repairer.

What Is the Repair Status of My Item?

You can check the status of your repair by following the instructions in the repair confirmation email you receive, after one business day has passed since the creation of your label, or in Your Orders by selecting Check repair status next to the order you sent for repair.
