Can't Stream Prime Video on Your Fire TV
Try these troubleshooting steps for issues with streaming or for errors like, "Something went wrong" or "Unable to play."
Tip: If you just purchased the video you're trying to play, go to
Your Orders to check that the order completed.
Note: For Echo Show devices, you can find
Fire TV Settings in your Echo Show
Settings.
- Check that your Fire TV is on the latest software version. To check for updates, go to Settings
and then My Fire TV or Device & Software.
- Restart your Fire TV. You can restart from Settings
or unplug the power adapter for 1 minute, and then plug it back in.
- Restart your modem and router. To restart your devices:
- Unplug your modem and router for 30 seconds.
- Plug in your modem first and wait for the lights to turn on and for it to connect to the internet.
- Plug in your router and wait for the lights to turn on and for it to connect to the internet.
- Clear the cache and data for the Prime Video app. Go to Settings
on your Fire TV, and then Applications
.
- Make sure that your HDMI cable and display is compatible with HDCP 1.4 (for HD content) or HDCP 2.2 (for UHD/HDR content).
