Controlling Your Smart Home with Alexa+
Speak to Alexa naturally to complete household actions.
You don't have to memorize a list of commands or device names to control your smart home devices. Use conversational language when making requests or asking questions to Alexa.
Some ways to talk with Alexa to manage your Alexa-connected smart home devices:
Request Multiple Actions
Alexa completes multiple requests from a single statement. Say something like, "Turn on the kitchen and living room lights, and open my blinds," and Alexa completes these actions for you.
Make General Statements
For example, say to Alexa, "It's dark in this room," and Alexa adjusts lighting levels in the appropriate room. Alexa interprets general statements about the state of the home, and takes action based on those statements.
Ask About Device Status
With Alexa+, you can ask Alexa about non-grouped devices. To check the status of a set of non-grouped devices, say something like, "Have you turned off all my lights?" Alexa answers for all lights, even if they're not in a group. For grouped devices, use the group name when talking with Alexa.
Control Devices Without Memorization
Don't remember the names of your smart home devices? Use other words that signal the device you want to Alexa. You can say, "Turn on the new light in the living room," and Alexa turns on the recently connected light in your living room.
