Conversations with Alexa+

With Alexa+ you can interact with Alexa conversationally, without having to memorize a list of commands.

Note: Not all features and services will be available at once. New features will roll out across compatible devices during the Early Access period. For more information on available features and supported devices go to: Alexa+

When interacting with Alexa+, you can maintain a conversational tone and follow-up without having to repeat the wake word every time. On compatible Echo Show devices, you can also interrupt Alexa without having to say the wake word.

Alexa understands the context of your conversations and, when specifically asked, can remember the details from previous communications. If Alexa doesn't understand a request, Alexa asks clarifying questions to get the details needed to move the conversation forward.

For example, if you say, "Can you help me plan a trip this summer?" Alexa may respond with, "Sure, how many days are you thinking of traveling this summer?"

Here are just some of the ways you can talk with Alexa:

Ask and Explore

You can have in-depth conversations with Alexa on a wide variety of subjects. Alexa lets you ask follow-up questions to explore subjects in more detail, and Alexa will adapt the responses accordingly.

You can ask Alexa to research any topic, summarize key details, and get a concise and informative overview. Alexa adapts its responses based on how you're interacting, providing longer responses and visual content when you're using text, while keeping voice responses more concise.

To get started, simply ask Alexa an open-ended question.

Continuous Learning

Alexa asks questions to get to know you better and provide more personalized recommendations and assistance, like:

  • Recipe search based on your dietary preferences, the ingredients, and cuisines cooking methods you like.
  • Updates on your favorite sports teams and leagues.
  • Alexa learns to remember what song you meant. If Alexa ever plays another song than what you had in mind, you only need to correct it once and it will remember if you meant to play "Hello" by Adele or Lionel Richie.

Continue Conversations Between Devices

Alexa+ remembers the context of conversations so that you can seamlessly pick up where you left off, whether on your Echo device or in the Alexa app.

For example, you can ask Alexa for dinner recipes and continue building out your weekly grocery list in the Alexa app on the way to the grocery store.
