How to Share Files Through the Alexa App with Alexa+

Share files and images with Alexa+ to help track events, draft replies to emails, answer questions related to the shared material, and more.

Note: Not all features and services will be available at once. New features will roll out across compatible devices during the Early Access period. For more information on available features and supported devices go to: Alexa+

To share files with Alexa from the Alexa app:

  1. Open the Alexa app .
  2. Select the Message Alexa chat box.
  3. Select the + icon.
  4. Select the file that you'd like to upload or select the camera option to take a photo.
    Note: Files must be under 25 MB, and in one of the following formats: JPEG, PNG, HEIC, HEIF, PDF, DOCX, RTF, TXT. Alexa can reference the text within the shared files. Alexa doesn't support videos or password-protected documents.
  5. Select Send.
