A-to-z Guarantee for Property Damage and Personal Injury

The A-to-z Guarantee for Property Damage and Personal Injury supports customers in the rare instance where a defective product sold in the Amazon EU and UK stores (Belgium, Germany, France, Ireland, Italy, Poland, Spain, Sweden, the Netherlands and the UK) causes property damage or personal injury - including products sold by Amazon or by a third-party seller.

The A-to-z Guarantee for Property Damage and Personal Injury doesn’t cover digital items, payments for services, stored value instruments such as gift cards, or products sold through other stores by parties who might otherwise be affiliated with Amazon.

We reserve the right to determine the amount, if any, to offer you to resolve your claim, and we may reject claims that we believe are unsubstantiated, frivolous, or abusive, or claims that aren’t covered by the A-to-z Guarantee Claims Process.

Any offers of compensation made through the A-to-z Guarantee for Property Damage and Personal Injury will be limited to:

  • The purchase price of the product AND
  • Compensation limits for medical expenses, lost wages, and property damage caused by a defective product purchased on Amazon.co.uk.

If you have already received compensation from another source such as the seller or manufacturer, you won't be eligible for recovery through the A-to-z Guarantee for Property Damage and Personal Injury.

Amazon as independent data controllers, process your personal information as described in the Amazon.co.uk Privacy Notice. In case the evidence provided to support your Personal Injury claim under the A-to-Z Guarantee includes medical and health information, we need your consent to process that information for the purpose of investigating and processing the Personal Injury claim, including any necessary exchange of such data between Amazon, its affiliates and the third-party administrator.

If you wish to withdraw the consent provided to Amazon for collection and processing of medical and health information related to A-to-Z Guarantee personal injury claims, you can do so by withdrawing your A-to-z Guarantee claim for Personal Injury. For approved claims, you can withdraw your consent by contacting Customer Service. Withdrawal of consent does not affect the lawfulness of use of your personal health information based on consent before its withdrawal. We may retain information if needed in line with our legal obligations, including under the Luxembourg Commercial Code, for the establishment, exercise, or defence of legal claims, and for preventing fraud/ensuring security.
