Calibrating Eye Gaze
When you use Eye Gaze for the first time, you'll need to complete a calibration session. This will help your device with gaze tracking accuracy, and should take about one minute to complete. Before calibrating, make sure your device is at eye level and mounted in a stable position. You'll also want to be in a brightly lit room. However, if you wear glasses, glare on your lenses may affect accuracy. Try adjusting the lighting to remove any glare. When you're ready, follow the instructions on the calibration screens as they appear.
- Make sure your face is about 1.5-2 feet from your device.
- Face the camera head-on, and line up your face inside the red box on the screen. The calibration process will start when the box turns green.
- When calibration begins, a series of dots will appear on screen. Follow the dots with your eyes as they appear. For best results, keep a neutral expression, and try not to blink when you see any dots.
- You'll know you're done with calibration when you see the words, "Calibration Successful," appear on the screen.
If you experience any performance issues, you can recalibrate your device at any time. Just go to the settings menu inside of Eye Gaze on Alexa.
