How to Use the Assistive Reader on Your Kindle
Assistive Reader provides you with new options to control TTS (Text-to-Speech) on your Kindle E-Reader 11th Generation and higher, Kindle Scribe, or Kindle Colorsoft.
Listen to Your Books with Assistive Reader
Note: Assistive Reader supports books in English, Spanish, French, German, and Italian language.
Assistive Reader lets you listen to your Kindle books while following along with text underlining. With this feature you can:
- Play, pause, control the reading speed, or rewind by 30 seconds using the player controls at the bottom of the screen
- Follow along with the words highlighted as they're read aloud
- Pick up right where you left off - Assistive Reader automatically pauses when you open the navigation menu or create highlights or notes
- Go to the Kindle Store.
- Find your book.
- Look for "Enhanced Typesetting: Enabled" in the book's features list.
Turn On Assistive Reader
- Open the content where you'd like to use Assistive Reader.
- Tap the top center of the screen, and then select the reading settings menu, Aa.
- Select More, and then turn on Assistive Reader.
Note: Once you turn on Assistive Reader, it remains available until you turn it off again.
